Monopoly but a bit more awesome!!
Its 11 am on a Saturday morning and that means that the pubs are open. Im not usually one to start drinking this early (I like the midday rule) but with 22 streets and 4 train stations to visit you need an start early.
This is the monopoly pub crawl, A day packed with pubs ,drinks and drunken fun around one of the finest city's in the world London.
There are many different ways of completing this challenge you can try it in the order of the board although the logistics for this are terrible and you end up zig zagging backwards and forwards all over the place. Then there is the route designed by http://www.monopolypubcrawl.org.uk.
The Guide they have drawn up takes away a lot of the hard work by telling you how to get to each pub and even telling you which bus or tube train you need to get. They even give you a time frame for each pub so you can stay on track and actually finish. Not an easy task, I have attempted it 5 times and only ever made the final pub on 3 occassions.
Setting foot in the first pub is always a great experience if you get there at 11am the pub will be filled with people all drinking 1/2 pints. Ten minutes later the bar will be empty as everyone leaves jumps on the bus out the front heads across tower bridge and into the second pub. The day continues like this and before you know it you will be drinking and laughing with random strangers who will become great mates as the day goes on.
If you can make it to the final pub this is where the real party is. As each of the different groups arrive the pub erupts in cheers and congratulations for there inebriated friends. A strange experience walking into a pub you dont know only for half of the pub to cheer. It gives you a great sense of achievement and if you made it this far you deserve it.
This is a must for anyone visiting the capital if your up to the challenge that is!
